Professional Profile
Hi, I’m Aleksandr Shemendyuk — a researcher and educator specialising in actuarial science, data analytics and AI‑driven innovation. I earned my PhD in Actuarial Science from the University of Lausanne in July 2024, where I built statistical models that help insurers and health‑care providers understand long‑term‑care risk. My work has been published in leading journals such as Insurance: Mathematics and Economics and the Annals of Actuarial Science.
Today, I lecture on Data Science in Business Analytics and AI Tools in Business Innovation, mentor secondary‑school pupils in mathematics and partner with organisations to embed generative‑AI — from conversational agents to end‑to‑end fron- and backend systems. Translating rigorous mathematics into real‑world solutions is what motivates me.
